Journal Entry: Fri Mar 6, 2009, 12:35 AM
i got pretty far behind on commenting and such. this is bad. the good news is that i have some free time to take care of it this weekend. that is all for now.

this has been a total waste of time for anyone reading, so sorry for that too.

*edit* remember how i said about having free time over the weekend? TOTAL LIE.

bad times ahead... i dropped my xbox controller on my kitchen floor and now the LB button doesnt work right. It looks like i need some magic hex key to take it apart. does anyone know anything about fixing these things? I cant really play L4D properly if i cant pounce as a hunter, so this is serious business.

well today i went against good judgment and bought a 1969 plymouth satellite. it has a list of things to fix as long as my arm, but is already pretty awesome.

it is a trip how different everything is on an old car to a modern one. i sat down in it and saw all these odd looking buttons and switches and had literally no idea what anything was or where any of the usual things were. the lady i bought it from was just like "this is the first older car you've driven huh?"

I took it out for a drive tonight and a light appeared on the dash for a while, it isn't labeled or anything and the light behind the gauges doesn't work, so its all dark. I get home and look it up in the manual, and apparently its to tell you when the high-beams are on. I guess they aren't very bright because you cant tell while driving, and they are operated by a button you press with your foot?! I still have no idea where that button is.

my brain hurts

well, holidays are pretty much over now. i turned 24, and the world kicked over to 2009. so far things haven't changed much. the main thing is that i have gotten sick. today i am nursing a headache and getting ready to drive back to california tomorrow. it should be pretty unfun if my eyes still hurt as bad as they do today.

clearly, i like to whine on the internets.

how has everyone else's xmas/newyears been? any cool presents? someone out there must have something.

something new

Journal Entry: Sat Dec 6, 2008, 11:31 PM
I have been neglecting my dA account for a few weeks now, but I have made it through my messages and about half of my devWatch today. Theres a lot of good stuff still left in it to comment on tomorrow.

Things are going pretty well. Work is pretty fun and chill, only now I have quite a bit of time off due to the troubles in the banking industry. Whether or not this time can be harnessed in a productive way that doesn't involve an Xbox remains to be seen.

I was chilling with a friend of mine yesterday and we made pizza. It turned out crazy-go-nuts good. Maybe I should just start a pizzeria out of my apartment. I could serve it to the tourists on the Amtrak trains that roll past every day.

On the subject of things that are of surprisingly high quality. One of my laptop's hinges came loose the other day and made closing the screen a little annoying. Luckily I was able to pry the plastic cover off, and tighten the screws that hold in the metal hinge bit and now it works perfectly. Didn't even have to shut it down! Try that on a macbook.. pfff you'd have to send it back to the factory for 6 weeks and they'd charge you a million bucks to tighten the screws with a special wrench made from orphan bones.

As I have made a habit of posting interesting videos, here is something new to watch.

It's a sort of lego/animation/fashion/music mash up. I saw it on facebook a while back and liked it. I'm sure it has been around on dA before, but I haven't seen it linked, so there.

This is also pretty cool.

Using a special patterned robe to use the power of the sun to tan a pattern on to your skin. It would be less useful on people like myself who just burn at the first thought of going outdoors.
